Assessment and Intervention: A Functional Approach to Spine Care

$80.00

Posture and gait both play a vital role in spine health. In this multi-lesson course, Dr. Mitchell Ludwig and Dr. Steven Reece will provide an overview of good posture and an introduction to gait.

Lesson 1: Posture contributes greatly to good health and well-being over a lifetime. Dr. Mitchell Ludwig talks about a “functional approach” to chiropractic care, covering standing and seated posture best practices, and an overview of ergonomics as it applies to good patient care.

Lesson 2: Dr. Steven Reece’s “Introduction to Gait” presentation will focus on the stance and swing phase of the gait cycle. Time will be spent identifying load/forces on axial joints and extremities and their impact on the spine.

Lesson 3: In this presentation, the focus is on a review of postural assessment, common abnormalities, and their implications for dysfunctional movement and maladies of the spine. Dr. Ludwig’s session instructs on muscle activation during normal posture and the impact on facilitation or inhibition of soft tissue on spinal and axial joints.
